TEST DRIVE MEME Interested in joining Terminal Tokyo? Well, before you apply feel free to testdrive any character you're interested in playing here! This is a good way to see how your character will work in the environment or even the potential CR. For the sake of this meme you are allowed to choose your own partners but it will not count as game canon. Nothing that happens here will, it's just for practice! That said we've decided to give you a bit of what you will see if you join the game. Keep in mind once a month we'll put up sets of missions your characters can join for bit, which is what some of these are! Others are mini-events. So here we go: MINI-EVENTS 1) IT'S A FILM NOIR, SEE?!: Why's the whole world in black-and-white? Why are you wearing 20's outfits? Why is there dramatic music, the urge to get a pack of smokes, and seedy looking detectives everywhere?! Watch out, everyone, the gangsters are about...and the internal monologue. 2) BATTLE MUSIC: One of the shifts causes music to follow your character around for a maximum of two days. Are they upset? Rocking out? Whatever they're doing we hope they're enjoying their new battle theme! 3) ROCK PAPER SCISSORS--DUCK!: Sometimes the most juvenile of games becomes the most perfect way to relax. Why not enjoy a few rounds of everyone's favorite game "Rock Paper Scissors"? Just be careful. It seems a fewDracmon have decided to take this game quite literally and won't stop until you have beaten them at their own game. Just...beware of falling rocks, flying paper cranes, and sniping scissors... MISSIONS 1) BABYSITTER ANYONE?: 300 BIT Petermon’s a jerk. He’s used his abilities to brainwash some baby Digimon into causing havoc around the city! Stop them from wrecking everything, again, but don’t hurt them too bad! 2) MON-DO EXPLORATION: 500 BIT A new continent is open! Server is vast and here is no map, so Chosen should get to exploring that! Watch out for weird pyramids, wild Digimon, bizarre invisible cities, and random out of place landmarks. And whatever you do, don’t get lost in the desert, okay? 3) I'VE BEEN WORKING ON THE TRAILMON: 300 BIT Though they live in what's called a "graveyard", the Trailmon who live there are still Digimon and need love too. Give them a bath. Sing them a song. Treat them nicely, and they might give you a reward for keeping them company. 4) GOT FISH?: 300 BIT PER FISH The Damemon need a little help with preparing the latest meals. Time for you and your partner to go out and get some fish. Just make sure you don't hook a Digimon by mistake, okay? They get a little angry about that. 5) TRAINING WITH CHOSEN: 100 BIT With some of the recent Chosen adjusting to their roles, some of the newer Chosen might be looking to them for help, which includes fighting experience. In the spirit of promoting such camaraderie, an observing or participating NPC will give those actively training a few bits for their effort. And, as always, you're also allowed to do this in a free form! These are just ideas to get your gears rolling and see what to expect. (NOTE: All missions and events are more light-hearted here, but will not always be in game).

Damn...we'll have to figure something out real quick then. First things first though...

[A large growl pierced the general silence of the area as Laguna brought a hand up to sheepishly rub the back of his head.]

Its...been a little while since I've eaten. Any Idea where I could get some food?

[innermonologues]

[He rolls his eyes a bit and shifts from one foot to the other to push most of his weight onto. ]

... The cafeteria is always open and it's free.

[Now those are words Laguna can get behind, his face softening to its usual smile almost immediately]

I like the sound of that! Can I count on you to lead the way?

Don't expect me to hold your hand.

[ He gives him a look before he starts to walk again. He expects Laguna to start following him. ]

Wouldn't dream of it.

[Such a nice kid, Laguna silently wonders how he ever helped bring someone like this into the world...as well as figuring out how exactly to drop that particular bombshell. Now...wasn't the time though, so he was just going to follow behind Squall and put his hands behind his head]

So...what have you been up to since you got here? Anything interesting to note besides the obvious?

( Well I found out I was completely useless against these Digimon. That was "fun". )

[ Kudamon sighs and moves around on Squall's shoulders so he can turn to face Laguna better. Squall is being really stubborn about this so he figures he's going to have to take matters into his own hands. ]

Well we've had a few bad things happening here and while that was happening Squall was being noble and protecting the digibabies. And he's been training a bunch! Not just his body but in socializing too!

Well, that sounds sorta like the Squall I know! ...Cept for the socializing part, but hey, it comes more naturally to some than others.

Yeah, you'd know all about that.

[Laguna's laughter was cut off as he visibly winced as if Leormon had taken a swing at him; even going so far as to put a hand on his chest after he'd finished recoiling]

Vice Assistant Leo! I'm hurt you'd suggest such a thing of me...I'll have you know I'm an expert in socialization!

Yeah, you're an expert in talking non-stop, that's for sure!

[Just gonna...dip his head down and sigh at that one, he didn't really have an argument for that one

[ Squall looks away to hide that fact that he might have just snorted at that comment. ]

[Laguna was just going to let that one go...it wasn't like he didn't deserve it after all]

.... Are you seriously the president of Esthar?

True as truth, been that way for the past seventeen years. Guess I made a better diplomat than a solider, haha!

[In truth it had more or less just been a thing pushed on him...all the things he'd missed since that time... but now wasn't the time to be thinking about that; he had some food to get!]

( What were they thinking? )

I see...

[ This is going to be a long awkward walk if someone doesn't start talking. ]

[Well...there was one thing that Laguna had never gotten the chance to ask about beforehand; and now seemed like as good a time as any to poke about it]

Anywho...I gotta ask, what made you want to take up a Gunblade in the first place? There are plenty of other weapons that are less likely to break your wrist if you misfire on a shot; so what made you want to use that of all things?

[innermonologues]

[ Squall glances back to him. It was a little weird he knew he had a gunblade, but he wasn't going to question it. Not yet.]

... Headmaster Cid nudged me in that direction, but it was mostly because I liked the way it felt.

Well, I suppose if a weapon exists there's bound to be specialists for it. How did you manage to work around that recoil though...just thinking about it makes my arms hurt...

[Thinking back to that encounter with the Ruby Dragon was nightmarish enough on its own without thinking about how long he'd had to soak his wrists afterwards...]

You just have to work with it. Feel the weapon and everything it has. Like a partner.

Spoken like a true solider, I think you and Kiros might have gotten along just fine.

[His friend had always been deep like that now that he thought more about it]

Me, I've always been more for the more modern traditional weaponry; after all, I'm still hauling this relic around.

[He reached to the small of his back and gave his machine gun a few pats. Sure it was the older Galbadian AR-1 model and used the flechette cylinder clip; rather outdated in comparison to the newer box clips, but it had never done him wrong before and he saw no reason to change now]

For some maybe, but its never failed me before; like you said, its like an old friend I can rely on.

Not a friend. A comrade.

That's a better word for it; someone you can rely on in the thick of battle no matter what the circumstances are.
