[He huffs in amusement. While he doesn't blush as easily as his 16 year old self, a little red dusts the bridge of his nose]

After that sneaking up stunt, if you had pulled that too I probably would have punched you.

I probably would have deserved it too.

[ He can't help but feel pretty happy seeing Neku like this and being able to talk to him like this too. He was after all the first friend he ever made himself. That holds a pretty high honor at least to him. ]

I see you're hair isn't as outrageous as it once was.

[He touches his hair, trying to remember how he had it back then. Once he remembers he breaks into laughter]

Oh god, THAT... I don't know WHY I thought that rooster-ass cut looked good.

True. Sadly weird isn't really something you grow out off. Just bad fashion sense.

It looks like your fashion sense has improved... a little.

[ Not that he knows anything about fashion. He still just wears what he thinks feelings good. ]

[He turns a little red, shrugging]

Yeah, I guess I did. I thought that goofy thing was pretty damn cool.

[ He pauses for a moment and tilts his head just a bit. ]

It wasn't that goofy looking was it?

It might not have been if it actually fit you.

[ He moves a hand to his hip as he gives Neku a look. ]

[And Neku gives one right back, looking for the moment just like the sarcastic and rebellious 16 year old Squall had known.

But he can't hold it long, bursting out laughing]

Listen to us, bickering about a coat. Come on, I wanna hear all about what's been going on since I left. Have you been here this whole time, or did you go back too?

Apparently I went back home for a while, but It really doesn't feel like I left at all.

[ he can't help but crack a smile just a little. ]

It's... nice to see you again Neku...

Same... even though it's been years it's like I never left at all. When I was back home it was like this place, all of you was a dream... but now it's like I just blinked and was suddenly in spiting distance of 30.

[He pauses, frowning a little]

Can't tell if I'm the man or the butterfly at this point.

[he shakes his head, running a hand through the short spikes at his nape]

But yeah... it's good to see you again too. I'm glad I didn't make you up.

Yeah... [ he coughs a little feeling his cheeks heat up just a little. ]

I'm... glad I didn't either.

[ He keeps looking like he wants to add something or do something, but it might seem too awkward... oh screw it. He doesn't really care much about his loner guy image anymore. He takes a few strides over and yanks the poor boy into a hug. ]

[Neku is too surprised, and even now too small, to really stop Squall. And so is in a hug before he even realizes what's happening. He stiffens at first, but after a moment relaxes into it, hugging back]

Dumbass.

Shut up and just enjoy it while it lasts.

[ And don't make fun of his flushed face okay. That's not cool. ]

[It's okay bro, he's pretty red himself. He hides it in Squall's shoulder]

[ After a few more moments of hugging him he slowly lets go and looks away but there is still a smile on his face. ]

[Neku glances down at his feet, almost looking giddy]
