TEST DRIVE MEME -- DECEMBER

TEST DRIVE MEME
Interested in joining Terminal Tokyo? Well, before you apply feel free to testdrive any character you're interested in playing here! This is a good way to see how your character will work in the environment or even the potential CR.

For the sake of this meme you are allowed to choose your own partners but it will not count as game canon. Nothing that happens here will, it's just for practice!

That said we've decided to give you a bit of what you will see if you join the game. Keep in mind once a month we'll put up sets of missions your characters can join for bit, which is what some of these are! Others are mini-events. So here we go:

MINI-EVENTS
1 POWER PROBLEMS A swarm of Kunemon have invaded from the forest! Having electric attributes in their attacks, they're causing all sorts of power problems around the city. Can they be stopped before electrical fires start up?
2) BATTLE MUSIC: One of the shifts causes music to follow your character around for a maximum of two days. Are they upset? Rocking out? Whatever they're doing we hope they're enjoying their new battle theme!
3) CRAZY WEATHER WE'RE HAVING!: Have you ever heard the expression "raining cats and dogs?" Well, now it's raining Gatomon and Doggymon, and they're understandably pretty unhappy! Or maybe you happen to be on one of the more normal weather days, like a sudden heatwave, or a freak blizzard, or a raging sandstorm! Better watch out for that tornado day, too. You're already not in Kansas anymore, after all!

MISSIONS
1) BABYSITTER ANYONE?: 300 BIT Petermon’s a jerk. He’s used his abilities to brainwash some baby Digimon into causing havoc around the city! Stop them from wrecking everything, again, but don’t hurt them too bad!
2) WE CAN REBUILD IT: 500 BIT The poor, poor city. It's in shambles! You've been drafted to help fix it up, in whatever way you can. Planting trees in the park? Fixing holes in the apartment building? Reconstruction of entire shops? Hope you're good with a hammer.
3) I'VE BEEN WORKING ON THE TRAILMON: 300 BIT Though they live in what's called a "graveyard", the Trailmon who live there are still Digimon and need love too. Give them a bath. Sing them a song. Treat them nicely, and they might give you a reward for keeping them company.
4 FIRE! 500 BIT The DemiMeramon's are a mischievous bunch, aren't they? Don't think so? Well, we hope that's not your house they're trying to burn down! A bunch of DemiMeramon are loose and setting fire to the outskirts of the city. Stop them before they destroy the whole city, but be careful! They may turn into Meramon, easy enough.
5) TRAINING WITH CHOSEN: 100 BIT With some of the recent Chosen adjusting to their roles, some of the newer Chosen might be looking to them for help, which includes fighting experience. In the spirit of promoting such camaraderie, an observing or participating NPC will give those actively training a few bits for their effort.

And, as always, you're also allowed to do this in a free form! These are just ideas to get your gears rolling and see what to expect.
(NOTE: All missions and events are more light-hearted here, but will not always be in game).

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

[When darkness took him, he expected it all to end. After all, Real Thing won. More like steamrolled him, really. Even with his darkness (darkness that the real Riku probably feared), even with the power he drained from Zexion, he failed. But that was fine. Inevitable, even. After all, he was just the imitation. Good riddance, right?

Riku told him that his heart would end up in the same place as his, though the Replica doubted it. Even now that he's regained consciousness, he still doubts this is what he meant. After all, waking up in some weird room with an overly eager creampuff that says "culu" a million times a minute? Yeah, no. If it weren't for the lingering soreness in his body, he would've called it a dream.

But nope, it's real, for better or worse, and as he storms through the ruined city, he wears an unwavering scowl on his face. His hands remain fixed into gloved fists. Gloved because, without his darkness, he's left with Riku's clothes, completely unarmed with some annoying monster thing trailing after him. Even then, he ignores the cries of:]

Heeeey, wait up, you dummy! You're doing this partner thing all wrong!

[The voice in question belongs to a perky Veemon who's toddling after him with a pout. They make it to the edge of the ruined Tokyo Tower before he finally stops and sneers at his tagalong.]

Look, if you want a partner that bad, can't just you find a new one?

[Someone may want to inform him how this Chosen Child thing works.]

Power Problems:

[Having successfully escaped his Veemon for the time being, the Replica now finds himself in the midst of an angry Kunemon swarm.

Electric bugs... He glares at the sight, reminded way too much of Larxene, if she became one of those Digimon-things. Left without his Soul Eater, he's forced to rely on other means of combat...

Specifically, a stick. Unfortunately, prodding electric insects tends to make sparks fly. In the midst of his attack, the bugs rear their heads back and shoot electrical blasts straight at his chest, and he tumbles back into a pile of rubble.

Really, at this rate, he's going to need a babysitter. Darn kids, so stubborn these days.]

[A burst of fire announces Flamon's presence, bowling over a couple of the Kunemon.]

Hey Riku, where's you're partner?

[Roxas had never seen Riku looking so small, but there's no mistaking him. And Riku would definitely recognize him, right?]

[Give him a second as he pushes himself back to his feet. His hair's a bit frazzled from the shocks, but nonetheless, he snaps his stick back up. It's right around that time that he hears an unfamiliar voice...

And promptly stares. Who is this guy? How does he know about Riku? Grinding his teeth, he blurts out a quick:]

I'm not Riku.

[And then he slams one of his shoes into the face of a Kunemon, smacking another with his stick.]

And who says I need a partner? I've got this under control, and I bet she's finally caught onto that.

[Sure, he might've been a bit cold, but come on. Him, a "Chosen Child?" That's a laugh. Besides, why would she want a partner like him?]

Then why do you look exactly like him?

[And he definitely isn't recognizing Roxas. There goes the idea of fighting together.

Flamon blasts away another Kunemon.]

You need your partner because otherwise these guys're gonna fry you, and there's nothing you can do about it!

Believe me, I wish I didn't.

[He sneers, rolling out of the path of a Petit Blaster attack and kicking another bug from behind.]

And me, fried? Please, if I can put up with Larxene, I can deal with a little static. Just because I can't use my darkness doesn't mean I'm weak.

[He says this as another electric attack fires at his back. He may want to dial that hubris down a notch.]

If this was Larxene she would've killed you by now.

[Roxas had only met her once, but it was enough to know that much.]

You can barely even defend yourself!

[There's no way this is Riku. Riku's not this stubborn. At least not anymore he isn't.]

[He opens his mouth to speak, but promptly gets silenced by more electricity. Hissing, he snatches one of the Kunemon by the tail and smacks it into another one's face. Sparks fly between the two, and they topple over, dazed.

Two more spring up, latching onto the Replica's back, and he throws himself back-first against a building corner. Gotta give him an A for effort, even if he's at a complete disadvantage.]

I can defend myself just fine. This is just a warm up!

[More sparks nail him in the shoulders as he says this. Even if he possesses decent fighting skills, without a proper weapon and without powers he's grown so accustomed to, he's out of his league.

If Roxas listens closely, though, he may hear some approaching footsteps and shouts.]

Flamon, help him!

[Flamon does so, though he's really not sure why. The couple of Kunemon that last attacked Riku get swept up in flames.]

What is wrong with you?

There's nothing wrong with me!

[Oh great, two more of those stupid pests fire off sets of Petit Thunder. Rolling his eyes, the Replica dodge rolls to the left and scoops up a chunk of concrete, flinging it at their heads. He's gotta adapt until he gets a proper weapon.]

Maybe I just don't want to sit still and let someone else do all the fighting. Just because this place took away everything I had left doesn't mean I'm gonna take it sitting down.

[There's a whistle from off to the side, followed by a new voice.]

Oh, brother. There he goes again...

[That'd be one perky Veemon shaking her head and giving a headbutt to the nearest Kunemon.]

Then why are so hurt when there isn't even a scratch on me?

[What is with this guy?]

You're his partner, right?

Because you're letting your little cat-thing do all the dirty work!

[And, okay, maybe he's been a bit too reckless, but like he'd ever admit that.

Veemon just sighs at his words, though, swirling her arms into a Boom Boom Punch.]

Yes, I'm his partner, but I think I got a defective one, 'cause he's really dumb. And-- Vee Headbutt!

[She knocks another Kunemon sky high before rubbing her hands together.]

So, like I was saying, I think he's broken because he's doing the partner thing all wrong and he keeps telling me that his name isn't even his name. What's up with that?

Beats me. Mine's working just fine.

Would you quit talking about us like we're toys or something?

[Roxas can't remember just exactly why, but he really doesn't like it. It makes his heart sting, like he's remembering something horrible. But...the memory's not surfacing.]

Yeah! That's another thing. He doesn't appreciate the awesomeness that is m-- Digimon. Yeah, all Digimon. Super cool and strong, you get the drill.

[The Replica bristles, taking a sharp breath.]

Will you shut up already? I already told you, I'm not just gonna sit around and let you hog the spotlight.

[The Veemon huffs, socking yet another Kunemon in the face.]

You just keep saying that, dummy. You'll come around sooner or later, if you wanna stay in one piece.
