TEST DRIVE MEME Interested in joining Terminal Tokyo? Well, before you apply feel free to testdrive any character you're interested in playing here! This is a good way to see how your character will work in the environment or even the potential CR. For the sake of this meme you are allowed to choose your own partners but it will not count as game canon. Nothing that happens here will, it's just for practice! That said we've decided to give you a bit of what you will see if you join the game. Keep in mind once a month we'll put up sets of missions your characters can join for bit, which is what some of these are! Others are mini-events. So here we go: MINI-EVENTS 1 POWER PROBLEMS A swarm of Kunemon have invaded from the forest! Having electric attributes in their attacks, they're causing all sorts of power problems around the city. Can they be stopped before electrical fires start up? 2) BATTLE MUSIC: One of the shifts causes music to follow your character around for a maximum of two days. Are they upset? Rocking out? Whatever they're doing we hope they're enjoying their new battle theme! 3) CRAZY WEATHER WE'RE HAVING!: Have you ever heard the expression "raining cats and dogs?" Well, now it's raining Gatomon and Doggymon, and they're understandably pretty unhappy! Or maybe you happen to be on one of the more normal weather days, like a sudden heatwave, or a freak blizzard, or a raging sandstorm! Better watch out for that tornado day, too. You're already not in Kansas anymore, after all! MISSIONS 1) BABYSITTER ANYONE?: 300 BIT Petermon’s a jerk. He’s used his abilities to brainwash some baby Digimon into causing havoc around the city! Stop them from wrecking everything, again, but don’t hurt them too bad! 2) WE CAN REBUILD IT: 500 BIT The poor, poor city. It's in shambles! You've been drafted to help fix it up, in whatever way you can. Planting trees in the park? Fixing holes in the apartment building? Reconstruction of entire shops? Hope you're good with a hammer. 3) I'VE BEEN WORKING ON THE TRAILMON: 300 BIT Though they live in what's called a "graveyard", the Trailmon who live there are still Digimon and need love too. Give them a bath. Sing them a song. Treat them nicely, and they might give you a reward for keeping them company. 4 FIRE! 500 BIT The DemiMeramon's are a mischievous bunch, aren't they? Don't think so? Well, we hope that's not your house they're trying to burn down! A bunch of DemiMeramon are loose and setting fire to the outskirts of the city. Stop them before they destroy the whole city, but be careful! They may turn into Meramon, easy enough. 5) TRAINING WITH CHOSEN: 100 BIT With some of the recent Chosen adjusting to their roles, some of the newer Chosen might be looking to them for help, which includes fighting experience. In the spirit of promoting such camaraderie, an observing or participating NPC will give those actively training a few bits for their effort. And, as always, you're also allowed to do this in a free form! These are just ideas to get your gears rolling and see what to expect. (NOTE: All missions and events are more light-hearted here, but will not always be in game).

[The Gaomon, however, seems to think otherwise. It stops just in front of Rider, taking a moment to catch its breath before replying.]

Yes. I actually am his partner, but he took off as soon as we got out of the Terminal Building. He won't stay still long enough for me to talk to him.

Why the hell would I want to talk to a dog with gloves?

[Rider has a better idea.]

[He steps out from behind Rider and glares up at the giant of a man.]

I went in by myself and was shot at and I still stole the suit, so don't you dare say I'm scared! Got that?

Then what's the problem with talking to him?

Because I don't trust it. Dogs aren't suppose to talk. Duh!

[As if this was the most obvious thing in the world. Gaomon is just a little offended though.]

If you had been paying attention, you'd know that I'm not this dog you keep calling me. I'm a Digimon, a Gaomon to be precise.

No, you're a talking dog with boxing gloves. You look more like a stuffed animal than anything else!

[Normally Rider wouldn't berate a child, but this is going too far. For the first time since their meeting, Rider looks and sounds cross. He folds his arms, and looms over the kid.]

Are you going to treat every Digimon you meet this way, boy?

[The giant man looms over him, and Duo actually freezes in place, his eyes going wide. He didn't think the guy would get so mad over these talking animals. He actually feels bad for making him mad, but suddenly, the guilt turns to anger...

Duo's hands clench at his side, and he's near yelling when he addresses Rider.]

Why the hell do you care? They can't be trusted! They're not suppose to exist, so why, huh? Why should I care? They're not real! Animals don't talk! They don't!

[Rider is completely unfazed. Waver's gone off on him way worse than this, plenty of times.]

If they don't exist, then why're you so upset about 'em?

They're not suppose to exist!

[They don't exist on the colony. These people aren't from there, and everything is just too much. But he can't let them see that. They aren't worthy of his trust.

He drops his gaze, letting his bangs hide his eyes from view.]

How can they be real?

So you're dreaming, then. Why make such a big fuss?

[Duo's eyes go wide the moment the words leave his lips. He didn't mean to say that. He didn't WANT to say that. They didn't need to know what happened. They didn't DESERVE to know!

He tilted his head back to look up at Rider. He actually seems scared and before anything else can be said, Duo takes off running. Away from Rider. Away from Gaomon, who looks completely flabbergasted.]

Oi...

[Letting the kid run is obviously not going to help with anything, so Rider takes off after him. And with those huge legs, he's pretty damn fast. He didn't get Rider class just because of his chariot and his horse.]

[Oi! Big guy with the big feet! You're making earthquakes with your stride there! And it's just enough to knock Duo off balance. He goes careening into the ground with a groan.]

Ooooow...

[bigger_and_better]

[...That was definitely not what Rider meant to do. He stops, and kneels down next to the boy.]

Are you hurt?

[Duo shakes his head and looks up at Rider with an aggravated pout. There's a small scratch under his right eye, but nothing extremely serious.]

No. I'm not hurt.

Good. I didn't mean to knock you over like that. But running away from all of this is only going to make you feel worse. I'm not going to let you do that.

[Duo runs the back of his hand over the scratch, wiping off some of the blood and smearing it slightly across his cheek.]

Yeah, what do you know about what I'd feel? You don't know who I am, so why do you care?

Boy, in my time I was the King of more nations than you could count. I know a great deal about how men feel. As to why I care, a King should have at least some concern about everyone around him.

Yeah, well, you kings should have been around more. Maybe there wouldn't be orphans.

[Rider's face falls.]

I'm sorry there wasn't one when you needed him.

[That makes Duo blink and look up at Rider.]

Why are you sorry? It's not like you made more orphans.

That doesn't mean I can't feel bad over what's happened.

[There are two exceptions (well, were) that Duo had ever met. This man acted like he cared, and it was confusing him. Unless it's just a ploy to get Duo closer so he can turn on him later. It's possible...]
