TEST DRIVE MEME -- JANUARY

TEST DRIVE MEME
Interested in joining Terminal Tokyo? Well, before you apply feel free to testdrive any character you're interested in playing here! This is a good way to see how your character will work in the environment or even the potential CR.

For the sake of this meme you are allowed to choose your own partners but it will not count as game canon. Nothing that happens here will, it's just for practice!

That said we've decided to give you a bit of what you will see if you join the game. Keep in mind once a month we'll put up sets of missions your characters can join for bit, which is what some of these are! Others are mini-events. So here we go:

MINI-EVENTS
1 POWER PROBLEMS A swarm of Kunemon have invaded from the forest! Having electric attributes in their attacks, they're causing all sorts of power problems around the city. Can they be stopped before electrical fires start up?
2) BATTLE MUSIC: One of the shifts causes music to follow your character around for a maximum of two days. Are they upset? Rocking out? Whatever they're doing we hope they're enjoying their new battle theme!
3) CRAZY WEATHER WE'RE HAVING!: Have you ever heard the expression "raining cats and dogs?" Well, now it's raining Gatomon and Doggymon, and they're understandably pretty unhappy! Or maybe you happen to be on one of the more normal weather days, like a sudden heatwave, or a freak blizzard, or a raging sandstorm! Better watch out for that tornado day, too. You're already not in Kansas anymore, after all!

MISSIONS
1) THIS TOWN AIN'T BIG ENOUGH: 300 BIT The Terriermon and Lopmon have started a turf war! You've been picked to stop it. Watch out for the Terrier Tornados and Blazing Ice.
2) WE CAN REBUILD IT: 500 BIT The poor, poor city. It's in shambles! You've been drafted to help fix it up, in whatever way you can. Planting trees in the park? Fixing holes in the apartment building? Reconstruction of entire shops? Hope you're good with a hammer.
3) OPERATOR?: 800 BIT The forests of the Digital World are strange places, especially with everything merging together. It looks like an unusual amount of weird telephone booths are showing up all over the place, displaying weird bursts of static and odd messages. Track down the booths and see if there's anything of importance...or listen to how to travel to Mars with a canoe. The second one's more likely. Watch out for Kuwagamon. He's irritable.
4 FIRE! 500 BIT The DemiMeramon's are a mischievous bunch, aren't they? Don't think so? Well, we hope that's not your house they're trying to burn down! A bunch of DemiMeramon are loose and setting fire to the outskirts of the city. Stop them before they destroy the whole city, but be careful! They may turn into Meramon, easy enough.
5) TRAINING WITH CHOSEN: 100 BIT With some of the recent Chosen adjusting to their roles, some of the newer Chosen might be looking to them for help, which includes fighting experience. In the spirit of promoting such camaraderie, an observing or participating NPC will give those actively training a few bits for their effort.

And, as always, you're also allowed to do this in a free form! These are just ideas to get your gears rolling and see what to expect.
(NOTE: All missions and events are more light-hearted here, but will not always be in game).

"AJ! There you are." Rainbow Dash zipped in from the skies while carrying a Gatomon that had literally dropped into her lap and tried to shorten her hair! Thankfully, her Digimon was faster on the draw and prevented the calamity. Once landing next to her friend, she put the Champion Digimon down who promptly bounded off.

"Raining Digimon?! That's new...if he wasn't reformed and all, I'd totally pin this on Discord...but since it's not him I'll say weird coincidence."

(OOC: I switch between pony and human if you wanted to mix it up now and then!)

Usually, when weird things happened with the weather, Applejack was not surprised to see Rainbow Dash fly through and try to correct mistakes or explain her actions. Right now, though, she hadn't been expecting her. AJ's mind was too busy dwelling on other things, like how she was going to survive in a world that literally rained cats and dogs.

"Those things tried to attack me!" she blurted out once Rainbow had landed, pointing outside accusingly. Though once Applejack raised her voice, their surroundings began to flicker a bit. That's when she noticed where she was...

They were in what looked to be some abandoned building. It looked normal enough upon first glance, like some sort of restaurant or bar, but it was... Well, for lack of a better word... glitchy. Different parts crackled or blinked in and out. Ugh, this place was just too weird! Applejack stared in disbelief.

[ooc: no problems here :3 do what you gotta do!]

"No problem, Applejack; your Friendly Neighborhood Rainbow Dash is-!" her catchphrase was cut off by the sudden appearance of the building, the former Pegasus staring at it but used to it by now as she'd been here longer than her friend.

"Pretty sure the weather here can't rain all the time like this, but maybe we'll find our answers here!" Rainbow began, about to make her way inside as per usual...!

"WAIIIIIIIIIIT!" The cyan-haired girl came to a stop at the cry of her partner Falcomon, who ran in but her wings flapped in anticipation.

"...Speedy, you should've caught up to me 5 seconds sooner!"

"I'm sorry Rainbow Dash, but the falling Gatomon needed me; I couldn't abandon them!"

...Yes Applejack, Dash's partner did sound very familiar.

Find their answers here? Did this place have something to do with the rain? Applejack followed her friend inside before she was halted by the voice coming from the Digimon behind her.

"Y'named yer Digimon Speedy?" She didn't know they were allowed to name their partners. Didn't they have names already?

Either that, or this was just Dash's way of welcoming Applejack to the Digital World. She nodded after hearing her question.

"Yeah! She can barely keep up with me in the sky but for some weird reason, on foot she's nearly as fast as me. Her real name's Falcomon but there are probably a ton of 'em out there so mine's epecial."

Applejack made an "Oooh" sound before turning to Falcomon. "Er, hey there, Speedy! My name's Applejack." She offered the creature a smile.

"It's nice to meet you, Applejack! Rainbow Dash has told me a lot about you." Speedy smiled back and held out a wing for her to shake.

"Hey!" Rainbow was quick to jump in, interjecting any other bits of information from being spilled.

"She has, has she?" Applejack said as she carefully took Speedy's wing and shook it. She tilted her head to the side a bit, amused, but also curious.

"Oh yes. She mentioned how you're the most honest pony she knows, you run a dedicated farm that sells the most delicious cider ever and how your Cutie Mark-"

"Okay Speedy, you can check the clouds outside the building for anymore raining Digimon now!" Rainbow quickly separated the two, pushing her partner back outside before anything more could be said.

The earth pony folded her arms across her chest, a new thing she'd learned how to do last week, and watched Dash take care of Speedy. Perhaps, one of these days, AJ would take that Digimon aside and ask some more questions. But for now, she was pretty pumped.

"Why, Rainbow Dash. Ah didn't know ya could compliment ponies other than yerself."

Rainbow glanced back at Applejack with flushed cheeks briefly before turning back, wings folded in as she fought temptation to extend them and fly after Speedy while motioning AJ forward.

"...I know how to compliment other ponies, Applejack! I can recognize awesomeness in anypony who's not me."

AJ was just joking, anyway. She laughed lightly while following Rainbow Dash deeper into the abandoned building. It kind of gave her the creeps, but if she could survive wandering around in Celestia's old palace for a night, then she could sure do this.

"So, what d'ya think happened here?"

"Eh, probably something fantastic like a fight between high level Digimon that tore the place apart and left it barely standing, with only rations left in a hidden fridge!"

Rainbow flew above Applejack's head, literally flying backward while bending her head back to keep track of where she was going; after a moment she turned over to avoid causing a cramp in her neck.

"A hidden fridge?" Applejack asked, tilting her head to watch her friend fly above her. "You've already got a whole story drummed up in yer head, don't ya?" And yet, it was facts that AJ wanted. She paused to run her hand over one of the counters beside them.

"...Usually I do have an awesome story cooked up, but this one's alllll fact AJ!" To prove her point, Rainbow came to a stop and looked back at Applejack for a moment before zipping behind the counter and -lo and behold!- pulled out a small refridgerator literally hidden from view.

"Who's the 'most honest pony' in Ponyville now?" she quipped teasingly, grinning lightly at the former Earth pony.

Applejack leaned over the counter, crossing one foot in front of the other the way she used to do with her hooves. Interesting that some of the moves she could make with this new body were similar to what she was used to. "Well. There was obviously gunna be a fridge here. This place looks like it housed other ponies at some point."

The blonde was more curious about the Digimon though. What would make them fight and tear a place like this up? Or maybe the building was just in the way and became a casualty. Either way, it didn't matter. They would just have to look for more clues if they wanted to solve this mystery.

"Pfft, whatever. Still doesn't mean what I said wasn't true!" Rainbow opened the door to the fridge and looked inside for a moment before pulling back and landing next to Applejack.

"This place might have a basement, so if we're gonna find anything it could be in there!" Or perhaps the main office would be a better place to look.

"The office?" Applejack repeated, crinkling her nose. "Why d'ya think we'd find clues in there? Is that more of your intuition?" Though they probably should check everywhere in the building, not just obvious places like the basement.

Cue sudden closeness while Rainbow nods and crosses her arms in a fashion similar to Applejack's. "Duh! The bad guys always have their stuff hidden in places like that. It's easier to make a quick getaway like if Ahuizotl needed to try and escape Daring Do -which would never happen- they'd try tunneling out from the basement and go up!"

Applejack stood there quietly for a moment, contemplating what Rainbow had said.

"So," she began. "Let me get this straight. Y'all think there's somepony still in here, or was usin' this place as their hideout?" The idea sounded laughable, but not improbable. Still, AJ wondered if her friend was just over-embellishing things, as usual. Was Dash trying to scare her? Get her excited?

From the eager nods, Rainbow was certain Applejack hit the mark -even if the mark was an apple atop somepony's head.

"Yeah! They probably aren't here anymore, but that doesn't mean we won't find something to help us figure this out." Not to mention, Twilight wasn't here to keep things rational between the two.
