TEST DRIVE MEME -- JANUARY
TEST DRIVE MEME Interested in joining Terminal Tokyo? Well, before you apply feel free to testdrive any character you're interested in playing here! This is a good way to see how your character will work in the environment or even the potential CR. For the sake of this meme you are allowed to choose your own partners but it will not count as game canon. Nothing that happens here will, it's just for practice! That said we've decided to give you a bit of what you will see if you join the game. Keep in mind once a month we'll put up sets of missions your characters can join for bit, which is what some of these are! Others are mini-events. So here we go: 1 POWER PROBLEMS A swarm of Kunemon have invaded from the forest! Having electric attributes in their attacks, they're causing all sorts of power problems around the city. Can they be stopped before electrical fires start up? 2) BATTLE MUSIC: One of the shifts causes music to follow your character around for a maximum of two days. Are they upset? Rocking out? Whatever they're doing we hope they're enjoying their new battle theme! 3) CRAZY WEATHER WE'RE HAVING!: Have you ever heard the expression "raining cats and dogs?" Well, now it's raining Gatomon and Doggymon, and they're understandably pretty unhappy! Or maybe you happen to be on one of the more normal weather days, like a sudden heatwave, or a freak blizzard, or a raging sandstorm! Better watch out for that tornado day, too. You're already not in Kansas anymore, after all! 1) THIS TOWN AIN'T BIG ENOUGH: 300 BIT The Terriermon and Lopmon have started a turf war! You've been picked to stop it. Watch out for the Terrier Tornados and Blazing Ice. 2) WE CAN REBUILD IT: 500 BIT The poor, poor city. It's in shambles! You've been drafted to help fix it up, in whatever way you can. Planting trees in the park? Fixing holes in the apartment building? Reconstruction of entire shops? Hope you're good with a hammer. 3) OPERATOR?: 800 BIT The forests of the Digital World are strange places, especially with everything merging together. It looks like an unusual amount of weird telephone booths are showing up all over the place, displaying weird bursts of static and odd messages. Track down the booths and see if there's anything of importance...or listen to how to travel to Mars with a canoe. The second one's more likely. Watch out for Kuwagamon. He's irritable. 4 FIRE! 500 BIT The DemiMeramon's are a mischievous bunch, aren't they? Don't think so? Well, we hope that's not your house they're trying to burn down! A bunch of DemiMeramon are loose and setting fire to the outskirts of the city. Stop them before they destroy the whole city, but be careful! They may turn into Meramon, easy enough. 5) TRAINING WITH CHOSEN: 100 BIT With some of the recent Chosen adjusting to their roles, some of the newer Chosen might be looking to them for help, which includes fighting experience. In the spirit of promoting such camaraderie, an observing or participating NPC will give those actively training a few bits for their effort. And, as always, you're also allowed to do this in a free form! These are just ideas to get your gears rolling and see what to expect. (NOTE: All missions and events are more light-hearted here, but will not always be in game). |

"Uh huh yeah yeah yeah? What's that, huh? Bring it on! I'll take ya both! Put 'em up! Come on. Bawk bawk bawk chickens!"
Blinking slowly, unsure what to do as he watched the display unfold, the pale man at last took those last few steps, reached up, and whacked the DemiDevimon over the head with the D-Terminal - which had proven to be fairly durable, after all. The Digimon's eyes crossed and it thudded onto the ground, drawing the Chosen's eyes down briefly before they turned up again, focusing on Duke, then Leatherhead.
Silence stretched briefly, the pale man silent before he looked down at his D-Terminal and pecked at the buttons with one finger, then held it up for Leatherhead to see.
SORRY

But soon they both see the pale stranger take care of the problem in his own way. Coming off from his angry mood, Leatherhead stared in surprise at the speed the guy dispatched his partner. Something's off about him, he just doesn't know what.
He looks at the D-Terminal, getting the general gist of that word despite his general lack of reading ability. Leatherhead thought he owed it to the guy to act less...curmudgeon-y , at least.
"I...I did not know you could not speak. Can you tell me why you followed us?"
no subject
It took him forever to enter in the short words, fingers tapping and pecking like a blind chicken, eyes squinting at the screen.
BLADE
The man looked up from the second word, picking his hat off of his head once again and pressing it against his chest as he offered a little bow by way of introducing himself. Evidently, Blade was his name.
That or a very peculiar way of saying hello.
"What the heck did you do that for?" the DemiDevimon asked, rolling over and looking up at Blade, who ignored him, blank-faced, and stepped on one of his wings to pin him to the ground.
OW OW HEY! C'MON I'LL STOP I'LL STOP!" it screeched, and Blade lifted his foot, never once looking down at the creature, expression unchanging as a painting.

Duke on the other hand looked increasingly uneasy at the guy. He looked a bit too quick to violence. And he just looked creepy, Duke cringed, whispering "I keep telling ya, Heather, he ain't right."
Leatherhead was used to people reacting violently. Usually it either meant they had a bad life or they were inhuman monsters like the kraang. He leaned to the former than the latter. He asked, "Where is it that you wish to go?"
no subject
TOULON?
He tilted his head, eyes sliding slowly to settle on Duke, staring for a long moment, unsure what to say or do to reassure someone. It was nothing he had to concern himself with in the past, so he looked away, focusing that unblinking stare on Leatherhead once again while his DemiDevimon adjusted itself and crawled up his back to perch on his shoulders, the big wings casting a shadow over the slender man.

Duke rebuffed all attempts to get comforted by...that thing. He only made a small grimace. Yeah, something definitely off about that guy. The little winged shadow the digimon partner cast didn't help, either.
I'd apologize for him being so weird but....ex-muderdoll. Hope he's okay.
Sighing and lowering his eyes to the screen again, he shook his head. Any amount of explanation would require too much effort at the moment and he really had neither the inclination or motivation.
HELLO he typed, hunched over the screen and staring as he worked while his Digimon grumbled, looking sufficiently cowed for the moment. WHO ARE YOU?
it's duke, he overreacts to everyone
Leatherhead tilts his head once more, befuddled by the human-ish thing as Duke reads the message to him.
"Leatherhead...I was not human, like you were..."
He lets the sentence hang in order to gain confirmation from Blade.

NO
PUPPET
DOLL?
He tilted his head, blinking slowly, then gestured with his hand a very small height. He literally meant a doll.
no subject
Leatherhead had never been a human nor associated himself with human before he came here. He always saw himself an alligator, even after the mutation.
"A doll?" he felt confused, "What do you mean?"
no subject
"Look...listen. No. Okay hang on you're doin' that wrong. Look lemme see...okay this one here...use that. And then when you need these thingies you do this. Geez. Yeah like that....okay now...yeah you got it. See?" the frustrated DemiDevimon grumbled, shaking out his wings as Blade went about his hunting and pecking.
a MAN MADE ME. tOULAN MADE ME.
"Dude. Seriously. I JUST showed you that...you're makin' the wrong parts small. HERE. RIGHT THERE. GEEZ you act like you've never had hands! I could type better and I ain't got hands."
The man looked up briefly with that blank expression before returning to typing, obviously possessed of boundless patience or just more interested in conveying his thoughts for once.
Toulon makes all the puppets. Blade. Jester. Pinhead. All the puppets. I have no hands.
"Man, you've got hands."
*sigh*
Had.
no subject
So he was a creation. As Leatherhead saw it, Blade must be an AI or something, like his friend Kagerou. It felt strange to think about.
"Toulon...is your creator. He made you...without hands. Why is that?"
no subject
To fight. To protect us.
It was better than saying "To kill", which was the fully honest answer, but really, Toulon hadn't been a hard or cruel man before the Nazis. Killing wasn't the purpose of his puppets, before everything went wrong.
He nodded slightly, opening his coat enough to show a slaughter hook on one hip and Bowie knife on the other before typing again.
They were my hands.
no subject
Duke on the other hand instantly tugged at Leatherhead's pant leg. But he ignored his digimon.
"Who did you fight...?"
no subject
Anyone that hurt my family.
And it was true. Whether they were good or bad people didn't matter. He fought Nazis, psychics, farmers, demons, even turned against his own masters at times, but one thing always remained the same - he had done what was necessary to protect the other puppets. Morals and defining traits in others were irrelevant. All that mattered was his family.

"You were made...to keep them safe."
