TEST DRIVE MEME -- JANUARY

TEST DRIVE MEME
Interested in joining Terminal Tokyo? Well, before you apply feel free to testdrive any character you're interested in playing here! This is a good way to see how your character will work in the environment or even the potential CR.

For the sake of this meme you are allowed to choose your own partners but it will not count as game canon. Nothing that happens here will, it's just for practice!

That said we've decided to give you a bit of what you will see if you join the game. Keep in mind once a month we'll put up sets of missions your characters can join for bit, which is what some of these are! Others are mini-events. So here we go:

MINI-EVENTS

1 POWER PROBLEMS A swarm of Kunemon have invaded from the forest! Having electric attributes in their attacks, they're causing all sorts of power problems around the city. Can they be stopped before electrical fires start up?
2) BATTLE MUSIC: One of the shifts causes music to follow your character around for a maximum of two days. Are they upset? Rocking out? Whatever they're doing we hope they're enjoying their new battle theme!
3) CRAZY WEATHER WE'RE HAVING!: Have you ever heard the expression "raining cats and dogs?" Well, now it's raining Gatomon and Doggymon, and they're understandably pretty unhappy! Or maybe you happen to be on one of the more normal weather days, like a sudden heatwave, or a freak blizzard, or a raging sandstorm! Better watch out for that tornado day, too. You're already not in Kansas anymore, after all!

MISSIONS

1) THIS TOWN AIN'T BIG ENOUGH: 300 BIT The Terriermon and Lopmon have started a turf war! You've been picked to stop it. Watch out for the Terrier Tornados and Blazing Ice.
2) WE CAN REBUILD IT: 500 BIT The poor, poor city. It's in shambles! You've been drafted to help fix it up, in whatever way you can. Planting trees in the park? Fixing holes in the apartment building? Reconstruction of entire shops? Hope you're good with a hammer.
3) OPERATOR?: 800 BIT The forests of the Digital World are strange places, especially with everything merging together. It looks like an unusual amount of weird telephone booths are showing up all over the place, displaying weird bursts of static and odd messages. Track down the booths and see if there's anything of importance...or listen to how to travel to Mars with a canoe. The second one's more likely. Watch out for Kuwagamon. He's irritable.
4 FIRE! 500 BIT The DemiMeramon's are a mischievous bunch, aren't they? Don't think so? Well, we hope that's not your house they're trying to burn down! A bunch of DemiMeramon are loose and setting fire to the outskirts of the city. Stop them before they destroy the whole city, but be careful! They may turn into Meramon, easy enough.
5) TRAINING WITH CHOSEN: 100 BIT With some of the recent Chosen adjusting to their roles, some of the newer Chosen might be looking to them for help, which includes fighting experience. In the spirit of promoting such camaraderie, an observing or participating NPC will give those actively training a few bits for their effort.

And, as always, you're also allowed to do this in a free form! These are just ideas to get your gears rolling and see what to expect.
(NOTE: All missions and events are more light-hearted here, but will not always be in game).

[For a moment there's a gleeful, almost mad light in the young man's eyes as he straightens up, abandoning his efforts with cutting down the tree. He enjoyed mayhem and violence, and none of these little monsters frightened him. It would be fun.

... No. No, that would draw notice. People would begin paying attention. That's bad. Attention meant sooner than he'd like the hounds would be at his heels again.

The way Vanitas pauses, and then glances around as if expecting someone else to suddenly turn up, someone he definitely didn't want to run into, suggests it's not exactly Vergil that dissuades him from testing out that saw as a weapon. Something else does.]

Yeah, yeah. Blah blah trouncing kids like me so scary blah blah.

[His tone and the set of his shoulders is distinctly sullen. Tree destruction can be passed off as just any juvenile delinquent causing problems. Fighting was worse. He doesn't like it.

The tree is kicked over instead, the cut made already being enough to make this not terribly difficult.]

There is no such thing as sympathy from a devil.

[ Tsukaimon hums this, while Vergil raises a hand to cut her off from saying more. otherwise he pushes himself from the tree. Vergil is making his way over to the two digimon still struggling with the tape. ]

An attack is an attack. Why should I care if it is human, male, female, or child? A warning was given and it would have been your choice to engage or stay your hand.

[ Vergil takes his blade from his sheath... and in one clean motion, slices the tape. should make it easier to get off now. ]

And you... Quit making a mockery of yourself.

Heard that before.

[It's muttered. Maybe they'd never find this world, and he could see about breaking skulls all he wanted. It was a dim hope. There's no comment on the man's words, even if Vanitas agreed with them; he didn't much care who or what was his target either. Most of the time.

But his sullen look shifts to outright cranky as the tape is sliced off the armadillomon's muzzle. But he doesn't say anything. Immediately.

The digimon however looks extremely pleased about this, working on peeling off the rest.]

Oh, thank you! I thought it'd nev-

[The blond young man hisses. It's sharp and distinct and instantly the armadillomon's muzzle snaps shut again, looking startled. When the silence lasts for more than a few seconds, Vanitas seems satisfied, and heads for another newly planted tree. The digimon fidgets for a moment.]

..Well, thank you, I do appreci-

[The saw is flung at the hard-shelled digimon; it sproings right off the shell without leaving a scratch.]

Shut it or I'll shut it for you!

[The armadillomon looks put out by this but does indeed fall silent. This is the definition of healthy relationship here. He frowns.]

You sure you don't want it? It'll make a good speed bump.

[ Labramon looks sullen... Tsukaimon still remains looking like a cat that caught the canary. ]

What was I supposed to do, Vergil? Leave it alone?

In a word?

Yes.

[ Vergil's attention turns towards the freed digimon and to the boy. that's really no way to treat the creature, but honestly? the half breed doesn't concern himself with that sort of thing. the weak must learn how to become strong. if not for themselves...

mentally he shakes himself from those thoughts. ]

Boy, you are better off getting used to it, as I said. A dull blade cannot be of use. Learn to deal with it or do us all a favor and rid us of your presence altogether. Dead weight is not appreciated.

[Carefully, the armadillomon shifts enough to gingerly pat Vergil's labramon in a manner that's supposed to be comforting. It's not saying anything! But it's grateful!

Vanitas simply snorts.]

If your idea of being not dead weight is relying on other things to do your fighting for you, then I'll happily be dead weight. I fight my own battles. You don't like that, go preach to someone else.

[It doesn't quite sound like bragging. It sounds more like.. aggravation, because now his saw is way over there. He stalks after it. Stupid saw. Stupid old man. Stupid monsters.]

[personal profile] hellboundslayer 2013-12-31 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
[ Labramon is busy pouting, but the gesture is appreciated all the same. Tsukaimon is beside herself with her grinning. what a way to step on Vergil's nerves. ]

Relying on them? [ oh ho ho... barking up the wrong tree there. don't think that for one moment that Veril won't spin on the kid, Yamato a hairs breath away. ]

Child, I mean to use them. Might is the way of the world and if these creatures are the means that I must use, I will take advantage and exploit it for all that I am able to.

[Now, the cool and awesome thing to do here would be to simply ignore a blade being turned on him. It would show exactly how little Vanitas cared.

Unfortunately Xehanort trained him better than that, and it's hard to overcome that sort of 'instruction'.

In the same motion that Vergil turns, blade in hand, the blond youth is already bouncing out of easy sword-reach and conveniently to his own not-weapon in the saw, which is snatched up quickly, combat ready in the span of a breath. It takes him a moment to figure out why his keyblade won't respond to his call. Foreign world - right. After several moments, Vanitas' expression goes disgusted. Normal kids don't react like that. He's supposed to be pretending to be normal here.

It's very deliberate when he turns his back. His partner apparently doesn't think this is a good idea, by the way it slides cautiously between the two, looking unhappy. It's still not saying anything.]

Tch. Calling a duck a chicken doesn't make it a chicken, old man.
hellboundslayer: (pic#6737663)

[personal profile] hellboundslayer 2013-12-31 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
[ given the child's bit of glee over destruction... Vergil isn't surprised in the least about the response. it is intriguing, but only just. whatever else there might be to the kid is not his concern. that is more up his brother's alley.

though Tsukai and even Labra are besides themselves with laughter. ]

"Old man!?" The guy isn't even out of his teens!

[ laughing at his expense... funny how just one glare aimed at their direction shuts them both up. and maybe backpedaling a few steps. Yamato is put away, and Vergil pushes a strand of hair back into place. ]

That is quite a comment coming from someone trying hard to be what they are not.

I've seen plenty of old guys. Y'know what they have in common? Hair like that. Or no hair at all. Guess you lucked out on that one.

[Could be bald. There were worse fates. Virgil must use some sort of amazing skin cream.

There are fewer newly replanted trees in this area than he'd hoped. He was going to have to go after the non-replanted ones at this rate, and finish redecorating the park.

That would possibly require a bulldozer and he's pretty sure those will be more easily noticed.]

Maybe not, they don't teach arborists back home. I'm making do.

[It's deliberate. But silence after that. He's already getting uncomfortable. Sooner or later someone else will notice the trees being down and he's not moving on, and this guy wasn't going to help the not-drawing-attention thing.]

Demons do not abide by human standards. Do not make the mistake of judging me by them.

[ that's a sure fire way to piss him off. pissing Vergil off usually results in serious injury. ask Dante.

but if the boy wants to be that way, whatever. Vergil isn't going to pry, only give the kid a pointed look with a raised eyebrow. ]

They do not teach manners either, from looks of it.

[ a glance to the two others to tell them he will be moving on. Vergil doesn't do idle chit chat. ]

Heh.

['Human'. Vanitas is only a little certain Xehanort qualifies as 'human'. Personally he had fifty munny running on the Master being Chernabog's grandfather. ..And Vergil looked nothing like that particular demon either.

There is the impulse to push further, and see if he can provoke frothing rage but that.. was definitely going to cause problems. So he remains silent. It's not easy to do. Even after two years of working on it, there was still the temptation to cause as much harm as he possibly could.

It'll have to wait. Nothing stops Vergil or his digimon from leaving, though the armadillomon gives a forlorn wave as they go. Then brightens up quickly.]

I think that went rather well! Nobody at all is bleeding!

[But first, he is getting more duct tape.]
