TEST DRIVE MEME Interested in joining Terminal Tokyo? Well, before you apply feel free to testdrive any character you're interested in playing here! This is a good way to see how your character will work in the environment or even the potential CR. For the sake of this meme you are allowed to choose your own partners but it will not count as game canon. Nothing that happens here will, it's just for practice! That said we've decided to give you a bit of what you will see if you join the game. Keep in mind once a month we'll put up sets of missions your characters can join for bit, which is what some of these are! Others are mini-events. So here we go: MINI-EVENTS 1 POWER PROBLEMS A swarm of Kunemon have invaded from the forest! Having electric attributes in their attacks, they're causing all sorts of power problems around the city. Can they be stopped before electrical fires start up? 2) BATTLE MUSIC: One of the shifts causes music to follow your character around for a maximum of two days. Are they upset? Rocking out? Whatever they're doing we hope they're enjoying their new battle theme! 3) CRAZY WEATHER WE'RE HAVING!: Have you ever heard the expression "raining cats and dogs?" Well, now it's raining Gatomon and Doggymon, and they're understandably pretty unhappy! Or maybe you happen to be on one of the more normal weather days, like a sudden heatwave, or a freak blizzard, or a raging sandstorm! Better watch out for that tornado day, too. You're already not in Kansas anymore, after all! MISSIONS 1) THIS TOWN AIN'T BIG ENOUGH: 300 BIT The Terriermon and Lopmon have started a turf war! You've been picked to stop it. Watch out for the Terrier Tornados and Blazing Ice. 2) WE CAN REBUILD IT: 500 BIT The poor, poor city. It's in shambles! You've been drafted to help fix it up, in whatever way you can. Planting trees in the park? Fixing holes in the apartment building? Reconstruction of entire shops? Hope you're good with a hammer. 3) OPERATOR?: 800 BIT The forests of the Digital World are strange places, especially with everything merging together. It looks like an unusual amount of weird telephone booths are showing up all over the place, displaying weird bursts of static and odd messages. Track down the booths and see if there's anything of importance...or listen to how to travel to Mars with a canoe. The second one's more likely. Watch out for Kuwagamon. He's irritable. 4 FIRE! 500 BIT The DemiMeramon's are a mischievous bunch, aren't they? Don't think so? Well, we hope that's not your house they're trying to burn down! A bunch of DemiMeramon are loose and setting fire to the outskirts of the city. Stop them before they destroy the whole city, but be careful! They may turn into Meramon, easy enough. 5) TRAINING WITH CHOSEN: 100 BIT With some of the recent Chosen adjusting to their roles, some of the newer Chosen might be looking to them for help, which includes fighting experience. In the spirit of promoting such camaraderie, an observing or participating NPC will give those actively training a few bits for their effort. And, as always, you're also allowed to do this in a free form! These are just ideas to get your gears rolling and see what to expect. (NOTE: All missions and events are more light-hearted here, but will not always be in game).

[Normally the idea of being thrown into a random city without his friends would be considered strange and scary, but the colorful monsters and sudden sense of freedom was just enough to distract Teddie until reality came crashing down on his little bear mind. He'll cry about it later, right now he'll simply admire his brand new Digivice and D-Terminal.]

Hehehehe, I can bearly believe it! Look at all this cool junk I get to keep! Yosuke's gonna be so jealous~

W-Wha? It's not junk, those are super important tools to help us protect the Digital World!

[The tiny Bearmon following him protests, sounding hurt that her new partner would even call such important items junk. Teddie stops instantly on the spot and gives her a pretty blank, innocent, stare. He blinks a few times as he thinks that over.]

Protect the world?

[He has to repeat it to himself out loud, it sound that important.]

T-That's right!

So that makes me... [wait for it] some kind of super hero?!

[His eyes light up and practically sparkle as he clutches the devices tightly and hold them up to his face, rubbing his cheeks against them obnoxiously. If being a super hero doesn't make Yosuke jealous, nothing will. Just think of all the girls. Super heroes most score, like, all the time!]

I-I guess...?

[Bearmon gives him the same blank stare he gave her earlier, although it doesn't last very long. Soon enough, Teddie's bending down, grabbing both of her paws in his hands and slapping on an unusual serious expression for a change. Where those devices he was just nuzzling before disappeared to is forever a mystery.]

Bear-chan, can I ask you to assist me in this incredibly noble quest?

[His voice his soft, practically whispered as he attempts to sound seducing. Bearmon finds herself blushing under that fur, but whether it's because she's actually falling for this act or simply embarrassed that her partner is such a knucklehead is anyone's guess.]

I... O-of course! That's why I'm here, I'm your partner!

Grrreat!!

[Scooping up his fuzzy companion, Teddie lifts her over his head and begins running down the sidewalks at full speed.]

IN THE NAME OF LOVE AND BEARS EVERYWHERE!!

AAAHHH!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! PUT ME DOWN YOU DOOF!!

[Uh hey Teddie, you might wanna slow down just a bit. Must get pretty hard to see when you're going fast. Speeding Teddies are even harder to see when you're barely paying attention to your surroundings like the black-haired kid wandering around.

It takes Gabumon yelling in shock to get his attention. He turns his head to see the speeding blonde boy. Kaiman jumps, falling on his butt of his own accord.

Really he had no idea if the kid had ran him over yet, it happened too fast.

Is he dead. Is he--]

Hey! What the hell?!

[Oh he's on the ground, but still alive.]

[Bearmon gives Teddie a few taps on the head before finally giving him one hard whack to get him to stop. Being carried around in the air, fine. Ridiculous, but fine. However, she will not stand for her partner knocking over innocent bystanders.]

You numskull, you knocked someone over!!

[Rubbing his sore noggin, Teddie turns around to see that he did IN FACT shove someone onto the pavement.]

Wowie, would you look at that. It's not me for once.

T-THAT'S NOT THE APPROPRIATE REACTION!!

[Ok that's it buddy, Kaiman isn't going to take jack from a sociopathic blonde. He gets enough of that back home.

He gets right up, going after the blonde kid. Gabumon is already covering his face from the inevitable confrontation.]

Don't just go 'it's not me for once'! I should knock your down!

[Look at that glare.]

Would like that? You wanna be pushed, kid?

Ha! Hey, you talk just like Kanji does!

[Which, now that Teddie thinks about it, it's necessarily a good thing. Although he appreciates the familiarity, Kanji was never known for his kindness. He was known for other things, like---wait.

Teddie looks at Kaiman suspiciously, eyes narrowed, and takes a step back.]

You're not gonna try to touch me, are you?

H-He really didn't mean it, sir! My partner's just, um, excitable!

[Bearmon really wishes Teddie would just book it by now, or at the very least place her down so she can run for the hills. This partnership is already a disaster...]

Kanji!? I don't know Kanji! Why should I know Kanji!?

[God this kid's really upbeat. This might mean he's like some kind of huuuuge sociopath. Just look at him!

Kaiman mirrors Teddie's suspicious expression, glaring right back.]

...not after you put it like that.

[Gabumon hangs out in the background silently looking between Teddie and Kaiman.]

Yeah well get less excited.

[Teddie wags his finger at Kaiman disapprovingly.]

Good! This fur is for girl hands only.

Teddie, you don't even have fur...

[Teddie pauses as he considers that.]

...The rule still stands! No touchy, mister! You wouldn't wanna see me when I get wild~

[He holds up a free hand like one would hold up a claw, carrying Bearmon under his other arm.]

It's like he wants us to die...

Now are you gonna stop being so rude and help me save the world, or what?

Fur...?

[No wait.

What the fuck did he say?! Teddie do you have a need for cursed humans in a freak out? Cause if you needed more Kaiman spazzing out, you definitely got it.]

Wait, what!? I don't wanna--I didn't mean it like that!

[Gabumon's shaking his head at Teddie, making a cutting motion. Shame on you.]

[The freak out definitely grabs Bearmon's attention.]

Teddie! I think you're winning just by being a giant weirdo!

So cruel, Bear-chan!

[He holds her up in front of him, turning her so he can face his bear right in the eyes. This way his partner can see the full extent of his pout.]

How can you say that to your Teddie?

T-That's not important, okay? That guy wants to kill you!



...Kill me?

[Teddie looks over Bearmon and back Kaiman, eyebrows raised.]

Is that true? Do you wanna kill me?

[He gives him the most innocent stare ever.]

[Kaiman blinks. He's definitely a weirdo, he'll give him that. But worth killing? Well, not really.]

No?

[Sigh, don't make him explain everything kid.]

I just want to push you.

[Hold the phone.]

--are you a magic user?

Well you sure made it sound like you wanted to kill us!

[Bearmon actually shouts and flails her arm a little. Teddie, however, remains calm.]

Magic user, Persona user. Sounds about the same to me... [nodnod] Soooo, I'm gonna say yes! Yes I am.

[Teddie...why?]

[And like a switch Kaiman gets dead serious. With no further provocation he brings his wide open mouth over Teddie's face, almost as if he would eat him. Normally there'd be a person in there, but not this time.

Gabumon desperately pulls at his legs, but to no avail.

Gosh Teddie, and you were doing so well.]

[Bearmon takes control of the situation now, not about to sit by and let this happen. She shoves herself out of her partner's grip and swings her arm right for Kaiman's gut.]

BEAR FIST!!

[Teddie allows her to do so as he backs away in pure horror. It must be because some guy just tried to eat his face, right?]

Oh god, are you trying to smooch me?!

[Or...not.]

You really are just like Kanji!!

[cursedscales]

[And Kaiman finds his breath stolen for less-than-romantic reasons. For a small digimon she sure packs a punch. He grabs at his stomach, gasping.

Gabumon just facepalms. Why is he even trying with this guy.

The ex-cursed human's first reaction is anger...which gives way to embarrassed terror.]

No! It's not like that!

I just wanted you to see the man inside my mouth!

[Bearmon huffs.]

Yeah right, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard--

[Teddie stops his partner's ranting by walking in front of her. It definitely catches her off guard.]

Why the heck would you want to show me that?

[Despite how he words it, there is a genuine curiosity in his voice. He didn't know humans could HAVE other humans in their mouths!]

[Kaiman's not sure if Teddie's a magic user. If he was, he sure was stupid for not trying to get back at him.]

So I could find out if you cursed me or not!

[Said as if he were a kid explaining the ocean to baby.]

[This wasn't quite what Nanako had been expecting when she had awoken. The only thing that really made sense to her was the angel that accompanied her now...although the things he said didn't make much sense either.

The "Digital World" didn't really sound like Heaven...but the last thing she remembered was being in the hospital, so isn't that where she was?

Hearing the familiar voice had especially startled her.]

Teddie...?

[She had been expecting to see her mother, but...if Teddie was here, then she could only hope that he hadn't died yet, at least.]

[Like a truck screeching to a halt, Teddie almost falls flat on his face when he hears Nanako call out to him. To Bearmon's relief, he doesn't.]

N-Nana-chan!!

[Eyes sparkling, Teddie continues to hold his partner over his head as he prances over to the little girl, totally not making stupid faces on his way.]

Aww, this is great!! Now we can be super heroes together!!

[He doesn't even notice her partner, everything's just Nanako.]

S-Super heroes...?

[Her angel - Lucemon - did say something about saving the Digital World, but that had only added to her confusion than explain anything.

More than that, though, she was worried about Teddie had gotten there.]

Teddie, are...are you okay? Nothing bad happened back home, did it?

[Because as happy as she was to see him, she just needed to know that everything was okay.]

[It's probably for the best that Teddie continues to ignore Lucemon. Nanako already has a pretty blonde boy to play with her, thank you beary much. If he didn't know better, he'd almost think someone was trying to replace him.]

Huh? Sure I am, I'm just peachy! I found a bear just like me!

[He no longer holds Bearmon over his head but rather right in front of Nanako to see for herself. Look! See? Bear!]

Um, hello...

[She gives an awkward little wave.]

The only bad thing I can remember before winding up in this joint was getting more hours at Junes.

[...And then suddenly, a thought.]

Hey, if I'm here, does that mean I don't have to work anymore?! Nana-chan, we can play forever.

[That does seem to relax her a little. It didn't sound like anything really bad happened to him. So maybe everyone else back home was okay too.

But then that still made her wonder. If she and Teddie were both here, and Teddie hadn't died...did that mean she wasn't really dead either?

It didn't really make much sense, but...Teddie was here, and he said they could play. She could figure this stuff out later.]

Okay...!

[Seeing his bear friend though reminded her of her own.]

Oh yeah...! I have one too...Except she's not a bear...She's an angel!

[Turning to the angel figure, she smiled.]

Lucemon, look...! This is Teddie! He's a friend from back home!

[The angel Digimon eyed Teddie for a moment before bowing deeply.]

It is an honor to meet a friend of my Chosen child...

Teddie gives Lucemon a surprised look.]

I didn't know you could get people...

[What would have happened if he got a girl? It'd make scoring so much easier...

NO WAIT, that's not important right now.]

Wow, you're super polite! Then again, most angel Digimon are...

[Lucemon gives Bearmon a smile.] Thank you...

[Then she turns her attention to Teddie.] Digimon can come in many forms...But I am no more human than Bearmon is.

[Nanako tilts her head curiously.] So...you're not an angel?

[It's like he's just seeing the wings for the first time.]

Then you lied to Nana-chan? Unbearable!

No dummy, she's an angel Digimon! She didn't lie to anyone.

[Lucemon nods.] Angel Digimon are different from angels in your world, Nanako. But above all else, I am your partner, and am here to protect you.

Protect me...? [That still kind of sounded like an angel.] What about Teddie?
