TEST DRIVE MEME -- SEPTEMBER

TEST DRIVE MEME
Interested in joining Terminal Tokyo? Well, before you apply feel free to testdrive any character you're interested in playing here! This is a good way to see how your character will work in the environment or even the potential CR.

For the sake of this meme you are allowed to choose your own partners but it will not count as game canon. Nothing that happens here will, it's just for practice!

That said we've decided to give you a bit of what you will see if you join the game. Keep in mind once a month we'll put up sets of missions your characters can join for bit, which is what some of these are! Others are mini-events. So here we go:

MINI-EVENTS
1) IT'S A FILM NOIR, SEE?!: Why's the whole world in black-and-white? Why are you wearing 20's outfits? Why is there dramatic music, the urge to get a pack of smokes, and seedy looking detectives everywhere?! Watch out, everyone, the gangsters are about...and the internal monologue.
2) BATTLE MUSIC: One of the shifts causes music to follow your character around for a maximum of two days. Are they upset? Rocking out? Whatever they're doing we hope they're enjoying their new battle theme!
3) ROCK PAPER SCISSORS--DUCK!: Sometimes the most juvenile of games becomes the most perfect way to relax. Why not enjoy a few rounds of everyone's favorite game "Rock Paper Scissors"? Just be careful. It seems a fewDracmon have decided to take this game quite literally and won't stop until you have beaten them at their own game. Just...beware of falling rocks, flying paper cranes, and sniping scissors...

MISSIONS
1) BABYSITTER ANYONE?: 300 BIT Petermon’s a jerk. He’s used his abilities to brainwash some baby Digimon into causing havoc around the city! Stop them from wrecking everything, again, but don’t hurt them too bad!
2) MON-DO EXPLORATION: 500 BIT A new continent is open! Server is vast and here is no map, so Chosen should get to exploring that! Watch out for weird pyramids, wild Digimon, bizarre invisible cities, and random out of place landmarks. And whatever you do, don’t get lost in the desert, okay?
3) I'VE BEEN WORKING ON THE TRAILMON: 300 BIT Though they live in what's called a "graveyard", the Trailmon who live there are still Digimon and need love too. Give them a bath. Sing them a song. Treat them nicely, and they might give you a reward for keeping them company.
4) GOT FISH?: 300 BIT PER FISH The Damemon need a little help with preparing the latest meals. Time for you and your partner to go out and get some fish. Just make sure you don't hook a Digimon by mistake, okay? They get a little angry about that.
5) TRAINING WITH CHOSEN: 100 BIT With some of the recent Chosen adjusting to their roles, some of the newer Chosen might be looking to them for help, which includes fighting experience. In the spirit of promoting such camaraderie, an observing or participating NPC will give those actively training a few bits for their effort.

And, as always, you're also allowed to do this in a free form! These are just ideas to get your gears rolling and see what to expect.
(NOTE: All missions and events are more light-hearted here, but will not always be in game).

I think he's definitely talking to you, Squall.

[ Squall sighs and slows to a stop. Laguna was makiing it very obvious that he wanted to talk to him right now. If he ignored the guy anymore he would draw more attention to the two of them and he would really rather not have more people circling them. He pulled a hand out of his pocket just to move it to his hip and give Laguna a look. ]

Should I?

( He does look familiar though. Where have I seen his face?.... Did he say Laguna? What is the moron from my dreams doing here? )

Huh? Don't you remember Esthar? Lunatic Pandora...?

[Squall looked legitimately confused right now...could it be he had injured his head sometime since he last saw him and lost all his memories?]

Hey, is this a friend of yours?

[Leormon pipped up from behind as he finally managed to walk around in front of Laguna; the small fire cub looking up at Squall for the moment]

Yeah...at least I think so at any rate.

[ He's still standing there with a raised eyebrow and his hand on his hip. This meeting was probably at the same level of weirdness as when he met Sora who insisted on calling him Leon. Why is this guy from his dreams here? Why is he talking about things he vaguely remembers Seifer telling him about maybe? And why does he seem to be acting like he knows him so well? ]

Any friend of Squall's is a friend of mine!

[ Squall gave Kudamon an annoyed look. ]

You have the wrong person. Maybe you're looking for a Leon?

No...You're Squall Leonhart, right?

[Laguna was beginning to question his own memories at this point...maybe everything he had experienced had just been one of those strange faerie dreams again; maybe that's what was happening right now. He couldn't rightly tell and it was hurting his head trying to make sense of it]

You have the wrong person.

[ Squall takes this chance to try and escape but he was met with a grumpy Digimon. kudamon gives Squall a look and nudges his head against his face. ]

Fine. That's me.

[Well...that certainly was the Squall he remembered, but something was definitely fishy around here. Still...he'd go along with it for now, at least until he could make some sort of rational sense of it. For now he was just going to extend his hand to Squall for him to shake...not that he expected him to take it of course]

Well...at any rate, I guess re-introductions are in order. I'm Laguna Loire, president of Esthar; its a pleasure to meet ya...again.

And I'm Leormon, nice to meet the both of you!

[ Squall looks at the hand that was extended to him and instead shoves his hand back into his pocket. Don't feel too bad though Laguna, he usually brushes off anyone's attempt at trying physical contact with him. ]

Right.

My name is Kudamon, and as you know I guess, this is Squall. He may seem like a grumpy person but he has a nice heart so I hope you can learn to get along with him.

[ Squall just rolls his eyes and glances off to the side. He was getting bothered by all of this. ]

( Why does he know about me? Did he have dreams about me too? I hope not, that's too annoying. )

Haha, I know little guy. He may be rough on the outside, but he's got a heart of diamond.

Uh...isn't it supposed to be "A Heart of Gold"?

At any rate, its good luck I ran into you out here. I just kinda...arrived and I don't know a thing about where I am. Think you could fill in the blanks for me?

[Even if Squall didn't remember him, at the very least he might be able to help him get his bearings]

Sure. We would love to help you out, Laguna! Besides we weren't in any hurry.

[ Sigh. He really hated how his Digimon made him socialize with other people. And something about this man in particular made the feeling even worse for him. ]

Great! Well...for starters, just where exactly is this place anyways? I've been all over the world and I've never run into any place quite like this...or see anything like you...datamons, was it?

Digimon.

[ Squall could already feel a headache of some sort forming. He sighed. Maybe if he helped this strange man, he could get away faster. ]

And this place is the Digital world. The world itself is calling upon people from different worlds to come save it and the digimon that live here.

[Goofing around aside...that was some serious news. Partly for the fact that he'd just been told that he was pulled into another world entirely...but mostly because he'd been pulled here for the purpose of saving it and the people who lived here... His face took a more serious gaze; something he'd had plenty of practice with as Esthar's president as he continued his line of questioning]

Save this place? What's going on that the world itself needs to pull in people from other worlds to defend it?

Digimon are going crazy. Time compression like things are happening. Worlds are slowly coming closer to merge and collide with one another. And no one has a clue on how to stop all of this.

Welcome to the Digital world.

[Time Compression...that sounded a lot like that whole thing with Ultimecia...this was getting more and more serious by the second.]

Well then, looks like we've got a lot of work ahead of us then. If all our worlds get compressed...well that's not going to be a good time for anyone right? Do we have any leads at all we can go on? Or are we just running blind at the moment?

Running around blindfolded in a room that's already pitch dark.

Damn...we'll have to figure something out real quick then. First things first though...

[A large growl pierced the general silence of the area as Laguna brought a hand up to sheepishly rub the back of his head.]

Its...been a little while since I've eaten. Any Idea where I could get some food?

[He rolls his eyes a bit and shifts from one foot to the other to push most of his weight onto. ]

... The cafeteria is always open and it's free.

[Now those are words Laguna can get behind, his face softening to its usual smile almost immediately]

I like the sound of that! Can I count on you to lead the way?

Don't expect me to hold your hand.

[ He gives him a look before he starts to walk again. He expects Laguna to start following him. ]

Wouldn't dream of it.

[Such a nice kid, Laguna silently wonders how he ever helped bring someone like this into the world...as well as figuring out how exactly to drop that particular bombshell. Now...wasn't the time though, so he was just going to follow behind Squall and put his hands behind his head]

So...what have you been up to since you got here? Anything interesting to note besides the obvious?

( Well I found out I was completely useless against these Digimon. That was "fun". )

[ Kudamon sighs and moves around on Squall's shoulders so he can turn to face Laguna better. Squall is being really stubborn about this so he figures he's going to have to take matters into his own hands. ]

Well we've had a few bad things happening here and while that was happening Squall was being noble and protecting the digibabies. And he's been training a bunch! Not just his body but in socializing too!

Well, that sounds sorta like the Squall I know! ...Cept for the socializing part, but hey, it comes more naturally to some than others.

Yeah, you'd know all about that.

[Laguna's laughter was cut off as he visibly winced as if Leormon had taken a swing at him; even going so far as to put a hand on his chest after he'd finished recoiling]

Vice Assistant Leo! I'm hurt you'd suggest such a thing of me...I'll have you know I'm an expert in socialization!

Yeah, you're an expert in talking non-stop, that's for sure!

[Just gonna...dip his head down and sigh at that one, he didn't really have an argument for that one

[ Squall looks away to hide that fact that he might have just snorted at that comment. ]

[Laguna was just going to let that one go...it wasn't like he didn't deserve it after all]

.... Are you seriously the president of Esthar?
