Test Drive Meme
Interested in joining Terminal Tokyo? Well, before you apply feel free to testdrive any character you're interested in playing here! This is a good way to see how your character will work in the environment or even the potential CR. For the sake of this meme you are allowed to choose your own partners but it will not count as game canon. Nothing that happens here will, it's just for practice! That said we've decided to give you a bit of what you will see if you join the game. Keep in mind once a month we'll put up sets of missions your characters can join for bit, which is what some of these are! Others are mini-events. So here we go: 1) POWER PROBLEMS A swarm of Kunemon have invaded from the forest! Having electric attributes in their attacks, they're causing all sorts of power problems around the city. Can they be stopped before electrical fires start up? 2) IT'S A FILM NOIR, SEE? Why's the whole world in black-and-white? Why are you wearing 20's outfits? Why is there dramatic music, the urge to get a pack of smokes, and seedy looking detectives everywhere?! Watch out, everyone, the gangsters are about...and the internal monologue. 3) CRAZY WEATHER WE'RE HAVING!: Have you ever heard the expression "raining cats and dogs?" Well, now it's raining Gatomon and Doggymon, and they're understandably pretty unhappy! Or maybe you happen to be on one of the more normal weather days, like a sudden heatwave, or a freak blizzard, or a raging sandstorm! Better watch out for that tornado day, too. You're already not in Kansas anymore, after all! 1) LAFFY TAFFY: 500 BIT A new candy shop is about to open, but there is just one problem. THERE ARE NO TAFFY PULLERS TO MAKE THE TAFFY FOR THE GRAND OPENING! And everyone knows that taffy is the best candy of all. Chosen and their partners get paid a mighty fine fee for aiding in the pulling of the taffy. Watch out that you don't get stuck! 2) OPERATOR?: 800 BIT The forests of the Digital World are strange places, especially with everything merging together. It looks like an unusual amount of weird telephone booths are showing up all over the place, displaying weird bursts of static and odd messages. Track down the booths and see if there's anything of importance...or listen to how to travel to Mars with a canoe. The second one's more likely. Watch out for Kuwagamon. He's irritable. 3) MON-DO EXPLORATION: 500 BIT A new continent is open! Folder may not be as big and vast as Server, but there are so many places to explore! Be careful not to get too turned around! Who knows what Digimon lurk in the shadows... 4) TRAINING WITH CHOSEN: 100 BIT With some of the recent Chosen adjusting to their roles, some of the newer Chosen might be looking to them for help, which includes fighting experience. In the spirit of promoting such camaraderie, an observing or participating NPC will give those actively training a few bits for their effort. And, as always, you're also allowed to do this in a free form! These are just ideas to get your gears rolling and see what to expect. (NOTE: All missions and events are more light-hearted here, but will not always be in game). |

It totally is. It's Real Thing in a ridiculous suit. Is he trying to look suave? Well, Rep wouldn't be the clone that he is if he didn't call attention to it. Anything to keep Riku on his toes.
So, here we have one clone, smirking his usual smug smirk, crossing his arms, and leaning against a conveniently placed wall while his Kotemon shakes her head.]
I don't know, I'd say he hit the nail on the head.
[He straightens the fedora on his head, as if it'll somehow make him look cooler.]
Don't get too upset, Real Thing, but this look works better for me.
[And... cue one facepalm from Kotemon. It's a good thing Gabumon isn't with them right now, or he'd probably make things worse.]
no subject
Only, if you want to look like you are trying way too hard. Oh wait, that's exactly what you are going for, isn't it?
[Maybe not the most mature of replies, but definitely the most deserved - and Riku will stand by it no matter how many disapproving looks Tapirmon sends him.]
no subject
The Replica swishes his right arm, his fingers curling into a fist.]
Please, I don't even have to try. It just comes naturally. Not my fault if you can't appreciate it.
Um... you guys aren't gonna argue, right?
[His Kotemon's shifting anxiously, glancing from one 'ku to the other.]
no subject
Whatever you say.
[And walking away now after giving Kotemon a small shake of his head, because yeah, he doesn't have time for this and he is in no particular mood to argue with the Replica. Even though, he supposes that isn't really up to him.]
no subject
[Aaaand here comes the Replica, stomping right after him. Darn it, Riku, why do you have to be so cool-headed? It's frustrating.]
You know, I've been here a lot longer than you. That gives me seniority. If anything, you should be glad I'm around. Maybe if I'm feeling generous, I might actually toss a few pointers.
[Because this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. For once, he's one step ahead! Acknowledge him, darn it.]
no subject
What, you really want me to take insult to my honor and challenge you to a duel, or something? You do remember how that worked out the last time, right?
[There is no drop of mocking in that particular reply, but maybe just a tiny bit of concern, because really... it hadn't worked out well then, and it wouldn't now either - not with how much stronger Riku's grown since Castle Oblivion.
As for those pointers...]
If you have something useful to share, then feel free to come forward with it. Otherwise, I think I'm going to be fine figuring things out by myself.
[Riku may be new here, but he is hardly desperate enough to come begging for advice.]
no subject
Hrmph. You think you're so much better than me, don't you? Insulting your 'honor,' hah... Let me guess. It's because you're a big, hotshot Keyblade Master now. Don't think Sora hasn't told me.
[His face twists into a sneer.]
If you're just gonna act all high and mighty, maybe I shouldn't say anything. Not like he's gonna need me anymore, either... Lucky me.
[The last remark's just barely muttered. With Riku around, will Sora even care to hang with him anymore?]
no subject
Your words, not mine. All I'm saying is that you are more of an idiot than I thought, if you expect the result to be all that different now than it was back then.
[It's just a fair warning; he may not have any desire to fight the Replica again, but that doesn't mean he won't do it, if he's forced to.]
Look, if there's anything I absolutely should know, I would appreciate hearing it now. But don't hold it over my head and expect me to jump.
[He is more than done jumping to anyone's tune.]
no subject
[He lurches forward, grinding his teeth and slamming his eyes shut. Okay, he can handle this. He shouldn't just let Riku get under his skin...]
Look, this isn't something you can solve by running around and waving a Keyblade. Believe me, I've tried fighting some of the Digimon by myself, and I almost became street pizza. So, if you're gonna get by around here, you're gonna have to adapt. Being a Master's not gonna save your skin.
[Somehow, he managed to avoid raising his voice, though his posture's still rigid, and his fingers grip at the sleeves of his suit.]
no subject
For the record: I don't know what Sora has told you but 'being a Master' didn't happen until recently, and I certainly don't expect that to save me from much of anything.
[Light, he only barely knows what kind of duties his new title brings, what it really means to him and to other people. In any case...]
Thanks for the warning, though.
[He will still try to figure out what he can do - just the idea of just sitting on the sidelines and leaving the fighting to Tapirmon leaves a stale taste in his mouth - but he certainly isn't going to dismiss what the Replica just told him either.]
no subject
[But did he really mean it? Can he really trust this guy not to act all high and mighty over him? It's probably stupid, but for now, the Replica's still seeing Riku as a threat. Everyone seemed so accepting before, but that's because he came first. Now that his original's around...]
But don't think about ruining this for me. I'm not gonna have you take away everything I've gained here. You got that?
[Kneejerk reaction? Perhaps, but that comes with the territory.]
no subject
Don't worry. Despite what you might think, my existence doesn't revolve around destroying yours.
[And yeah, he'll wander off now. There is a whole new world to explore, a 'partner' to get to know, a best friend to find and all of that definitely ranks higher in his priorities than dealing with the replica's insecurities.]
