TEST DRIVE MEME Interested in joining Terminal Tokyo? Well, before you apply feel free to testdrive any character you're interested in playing here! This is a good way to see how your character will work in the environment or even the potential CR. For the sake of this meme you are allowed to choose your own partners but it will not count as game canon. Nothing that happens here will, it's just for practice! That said we've decided to give you a bit of what you will see if you join the game. Keep in mind once a month we'll put up sets of missions your characters can join for bit, which is what some of these are! Others are mini-events. So here we go: MINI-EVENTS 1) POWER PROBLEMS A swarm of Kunemon have invaded from the forest! Having electric attributes in their attacks, they're causing all sorts of power problems around the city. Can they be stopped before electrical fires start up? 2) IT'S A FILM NOIR, SEE? Why's the whole world in black-and-white? Why are you wearing 20's outfits? Why is there dramatic music, the urge to get a pack of smokes, and seedy looking detectives everywhere?! Watch out, everyone, the gangsters are about...and the internal monologue. 3) CRAZY WEATHER WE'RE HAVING!: Have you ever heard the expression "raining cats and dogs?" Well, now it's raining Gatomon and Doggymon, and they're understandably pretty unhappy! Or maybe you happen to be on one of the more normal weather days, like a sudden heatwave, or a freak blizzard, or a raging sandstorm! Better watch out for that tornado day, too. You're already not in Kansas anymore, after all! MISSIONS 1) LAFFY TAFFY: 500 BIT A new candy shop is about to open, but there is just one problem. THERE ARE NO TAFFY PULLERS TO MAKE THE TAFFY FOR THE GRAND OPENING! And everyone knows that taffy is the best candy of all. Chosen and their partners get paid a mighty fine fee for aiding in the pulling of the taffy. Watch out that you don't get stuck! 2) OPERATOR?: 800 BIT The forests of the Digital World are strange places, especially with everything merging together. It looks like an unusual amount of weird telephone booths are showing up all over the place, displaying weird bursts of static and odd messages. Track down the booths and see if there's anything of importance...or listen to how to travel to Mars with a canoe. The second one's more likely. Watch out for Kuwagamon. He's irritable. 3) MON-DO EXPLORATION: 500 BIT A new continent is open! Folder may not be as big and vast as Server, but there are so many places to explore! Be careful not to get too turned around! Who knows what Digimon lurk in the shadows... 4) TRAINING WITH CHOSEN: 100 BIT With some of the recent Chosen adjusting to their roles, some of the newer Chosen might be looking to them for help, which includes fighting experience. In the spirit of promoting such camaraderie, an observing or participating NPC will give those actively training a few bits for their effort. And, as always, you're also allowed to do this in a free form! These are just ideas to get your gears rolling and see what to expect. (NOTE: All missions and events are more light-hearted here, but will not always be in game).

Kovu approached the Gabumon as the kid took a nap, both his partners with him.

Strabimon couldn't help but snicker. "Looks like you got saddled with a pretty lame Chosen."

"Hey! Is that a vid phone?" Duo's excitement was evident as he bolted towards a nearby phone booth. Finally! Technology he knew about, even if he never got to use it before. It was familiar, and that was what was important!

"Duo, wait, maybe you should slow down!" A Terriermon and a Solarmon followed behind as fast as they could go, but the braided boy was just too fast! He didn't even seem to notice the other boy sleeping on the ground.

"Duo! Look--" Solarmon was too late. Duo went sprawling on the ground after tripping over Chibiterasu. Oops...

[It's not that Riku is entirely new to sudden costume changes, or black-and-white worlds, he's only heard about latter from Sora, but well... worlds that force both of that on him all of a sudden are a bit of a surprise. Especially given that his current outfit seems almost impractical; he definitely doesn't see any point in the hat he's suddenly gained, or in the long sleeves or the suit he's been stuffed into in general and he kind of can't really keep himself from tugging on it-]

Will you stop that already? The suit is just fine as it is.

It's ridiculous.

No, it's not. It makes you look pretty smart actually.

[Tapirmon snickers at the look he shoots her, slightly affronted (or is he?!), faintly embarrassed and just about to deny that statement, before he just sighs and shakes his head at her, muttering under his breath.]

[Cue faint groaning. Light, he needs a smoke. (Does he? Uhg, what exactly is wrong with this place?)]

[...Oh god. Is that--

It totally is. It's Real Thing in a ridiculous suit. Is he trying to look suave? Well, Rep wouldn't be the clone that he is if he didn't call attention to it. Anything to keep Riku on his toes.

So, here we have one clone, smirking his usual smug smirk, crossing his arms, and leaning against a conveniently placed wall while his Kotemon shakes her head.]

I don't know, I'd say he hit the nail on the head.

[He straightens the fedora on his head, as if it'll somehow make him look cooler.]

Don't get too upset, Real Thing, but this look works better for me.

[And... cue one facepalm from Kotemon. It's a good thing Gabumon isn't with them right now, or he'd probably make things worse.]

[He really isn't trying to look too much of anything - much less 'suave'. Hence, the look that he shoots the replica, and the flat tone in his reply; he is really absolutely not impressed by you.]

Only, if you want to look like you are trying way too hard. Oh wait, that's exactly what you are going for, isn't it?

[Maybe not the most mature of replies, but definitely the most deserved - and Riku will stand by it no matter how many disapproving looks Tapirmon sends him.]

[ yeah that's about the only warning the guy is going to get before nearly getting tackled in a hug. Dude, it's been forever in Sora's opinion. His friend is just going to have to deal. Sure the suit he also has on is uncomfortable and Sora isn't sure how that hat on his head is even there, but that's a far cry from what is important.

Until he shrinks back real quick. Yeah. He remembers the last time he thought someone was Riku. ]

You, uh... Are Riku, right?

[Good thing that he is pretty used to that kind of hug, or used enough to be able to stabilize them both with just one step forward rather than have them both sprawled all over the ground once he recognizes the cry of his name for the warning that it is.

What does come surprising is how quickly Sora shrinks back again and the question that follows, though it's certainly not enough for Riku to be able to resist turning around with the absolutely straightest and faintly unamused face that he can conjure and stare down at Sora.]

Steve Rogers | MCU | Operator?

[The question of where he's at isn't an entirely new one, but for once he thinks he's 100% justified to be asking. Still, little guy next to him is probably getting tired of that question about now. It said it was Coronamon, a Digimon, and she's watching him carefully, curiously, probably wondering why he's looking at her so strangely. Surely it shouldn't be this hard to grasp everything after the small creature, no Digimon, has explained things.

Still, he finds his way over to a telephone booth again, only to find it telling him some nonsense instead of connecting him to a way to call for help. Someone. Even Stark at this point would be acceptable.]

We both know it doesn't work.

Yeah. [he looks at her.] But one of them might, it's worth it not to give up.

[Finally, the small creature, no Digimon, goes over to a booth herself and tries it, looking more determined to help this time.]

[When Tony had seen the mission involving telephones, it was hard for him to not accept it to see not only what was up with it, but if he could either A) Get them working and see what their range was, or B) Take everything salvageable back with him and see what he can do with them.

However, having to go with two digimon, instead of going alone, made things awkward, especially when they both ran off on him, forcing him to keep heading in the right direction alone.

The first one to come out from the surrounding forest wasn't Tony so much as his yet-to-be-named, Salamon.]

Ah! I found them!

[She stops when she see's Steve and his Coronamon, blinks at then takes a step back looking a little unsure.]

Uh, hello?

[She doesn't get to be shy long as, Port, a Dorumon comes flying out of the bushes and scowls down at the Salamon.]

I know you've only been told a hundred times. But 'Don't run ahead' is kind of obvious, dummy. What if you got hurt?

I only fell once, and it didn't hurt. I just wanted to find the telephones first. I was going to come back.

[Port groans]

You are in so much trouble, when he gets here.

[Salamon looks horrified for a second.]

N-No I won't!

[She looks hesitant]

Will I?

[Dorumon gives the smaller digimon a smug look.]

Yah huh. I bet he'll reprogram you.

[The Dorumon crosses her arms, looking like she's causing her own trouble.]

Into an animated gif I bet.

He won't! H-He promised!

He only promised he didn't hate you.

[As Port speaks, she realises that they aren't alone, but she had been too preoccupied with Salamon running off.]

Oh, Hullo. You trying to figure out why the telephones are here too?

[Steve looks highly unsure again. So, it's not a fluke that his talks. Okay, so this is a norm, Coronamon mentioned that, but Steve is still finds it hard to be sure of anything right now. It's all pretty unbelievable and far fetched. He'd really like to get back home now.

Or wake up.]

Yeah, seeing if there's a way to call someone. [Fury to be exact. He's really not familiar with how to deal with talking creatures.

Coronamon walks over and stands by his side, though a step in front of him. Though she looks far from happy.]

Bullying is such an ugly trait. You should cut it out before it sticks.

[Steve hangs up the phone after he gets nothing but gibberish and decides to move on to the next one, pausing when he sees the two people he didn't notice before.]

Hello. Do you know if any of these phones work?

That answer is no.

[Steve mouth thins a little to keep from saying anything like "ignore her" when she might be right. Still, he puts on a pleasant smile for them.]

[Well...it was strange enough that all these phone booths were popping up unannounced out of nowhere, but now it seemed that people were appearing around as well; did new chosen make their way here when he wasn't paying attention? Laguna had no idea, but he noticed someone out on his daily walk today who looked very confused...and very dressed up; it was enough to pique his curiosity as he raised a hand in greeting to the newcomer as he approached.]

Hey, paws off! We're working here! [That annoyed yell comes from a Leormon sitting just outside the phone booth, where his human's crouching underneath the phone and fiddling with the wires. But at the sound of that, Hope shoots him a scowl, before standing and wiping his hands on his trousers.]

I'm sorry for Leormon. He's a little rude.

As-er-tive, [his lion cub enunciates, looking proud of himself for even knowing that word.]

[ sort of, anyway. Starscream is there, mostly watching. observing. without the need to be on constant guard from the Autobots and their never ending ploys to ensnare Earth on his mind, there is ample opportunity to let the scientist in him out. Cliffjumper had mentioned coming from another reality and while this had been confirmed, Starscream hadn't thought that he would share a similar experience. odd enough getting used to a very human form, but seeing creatures that are, essentially, comprised of data and their human partners working together is intriguing. oh how he wishes Megatron were here, if not for his leadership skills, then simply to bounce ideas and theories off of.

he is so caught up in his curiosity on how this world works ( and how it could draw in those from many different universes ), the Patamon presently in his arms squirms slightly. ]

You know, just watching isn't going to help. Hands on experience is good too.

[ the Digimon looks up at his partner with a smile and it is returned in kind with a chuckle. as Starscream releases Patamon, the digimon takes to the air. ]

Are we getting a little anxious?

Letting you get used to being human for the last few days is fine and all, Starscream, but you want to be able to help right?

[ a nod. of course. Decepticons are all about preserving life. he can't not help. Megatron would without question. ] Which means we need to learn how to work together as a team.

Right! So let's go.

[Bumblebee isn't arrogant enough to consider himself a veteran of the digital world, but he does believe in being a team player. Any opportunity to help other Chosen become stronger, or at least help them be better acquainted with the world, he'll take. Bumblebee's first experiences in the digital world were one disaster after another. The least he could do was make sure someone else's transition was a little smoother.

As it turns out, Bumblebee is even more subtle as a human being than a 16 foot robot (Imagine that). That's why he can easily some time near the treeline undetected, observing the stranger from afar. Bee finds him interesting: The newcomer welcomes teamwork, is even-tempered and self motivated. Bee's always on the look out for reliable allies. This person could be one of them. Vanguard even has his brows raised in mild approval rather than furrowed as they exchange glances. That's a good cue for Bee to go and introduce himself.

The Autobot is rather relaxed as he approaches the other from behind, Bumblebee is young and unassuming. Most people aren't on edge when they first meet him. But most people don't recognize the red Autobot brand at his chest and shoulders.]

[Starscream isn't the only one sitting on the sidelines. A certain tall, lanky Nobody and his Ryudamon can also be found there. Currently, the Nobody has his large chakrams sitting on the grass next to him, but a make-shift shoulder harness indicates they can be slung over his back if needed.

He can't help but overhear the other pair talking and decides that since they're both sort of in need of a sparring partner, they might as well use each other. Axels stands and picks up his chakrams, approaching the other pair with his partner.]

Hey there. Couldn't help but over hear that you two were looking to get some sparring in? Or at least he is, anyway.

[Axel indicated Patamon with an amused smirk.]

[There is a giant man stomping through Tokyo today. He is large, bald, decked in blue, carrying a massive gun on his back like it was made of paper. He is also clearly not in a good mood.

Behind him trails a Ryudomon, who looks similarly unhappy, although probably for different reasons. The two figures appear to be talking. Or, more accurately, arguing.]

Go away. No.

Go. Away. No! Didn't you hear earlier, I'm your partner.

[The digimon gets a scowl and a growl as, without stopping his mild rampage, he turns around to yell.] I already have partner! Sasha is partner!

What, that hunk of metal on your back? It's not even al- hey, watch out!

[Too bad he's not looking forward, because he's liable to run into somebody. Be careful.]

Axel | Kingdom Hearts | Operator?

[Axel stood looking up and down the row of phone booths, pondering which one to try first. Finally, he just shrugged and walked over to the nearest one, his Ryudamon following along behind him. He picked up the receiver and...]

"Why is a raven like a three-toed sloth?"

...Well, I think I know where these phones call from.

[A little down the way, Heavy has found himself having an animated but confused argument in Russian that can probably be heard in Tokyo proper.

Another Ryudamon is looking close by, before spotting Axel and... his partner.]

Heeeey! Can you guys help, I think my partner is going to punch down this phone.

[...It's Axel. It's Axel, and he's talking in a phone booth. Why is he here?

Oh, well, this is his chance. His chance to prove Sora wrong about him. Grumbling, the Replica bunches his hands into fists, puffs out his chest, and stomps over to him.]

[There's a Kotemon and Gabumon toddling close behind, the Gabumon wearing a gigantic smirk.]
